Yasmin Ahmad - May You Rest In Peace - Amin.

Innalillah wa inallilahirajiun .. What else can one say...

I've been meaning to write this post once I heard about her passing at 11:25pm on Saturday 25th July, last Sunday; 26th July 2009. It came to me as a shock... well.. not as great as the Tsunami news.... but suffice to say, it left me bewildered for quite sometimes.

Why? Because I adore her works. To me, she is the most brilliant and talented director, script-writer and writer in Malaysia ever since I watched her advertisements and films. I have never been disappointed watching her work or arts since I realize the hidden message she instilled in them - message that's not too abstract until you can't understand - message that portray the real life of Malaysians whether we want to admit it or otherwise - message that touch everyone of us deep inside and causes us who can think to repent and do the right things..... ..........

Yes.. as a Moslem, we have to always remember all that lives will eventually passed away. That's the rule, and we have to believe and embrace it as our faith. And I do know, its easier said than done.. for the close family of the departed who will feel the extreme lost in their life and definitely their life will never be the same again. But, what can one do?? Only.. snap back to reality and remember that we will follow suit our loved ones when the time comes. Till then, God has generously spare us with some bit of time now for us to do good deeds to ourself and others.

Lastly, I pray that Yasmin Ahmad will Rest In Peace and her family will be strong to face the coming days. One thing for sure, everyone is unique in their own way.. ....

Take a break- breath in and relaxs :-)

Mmmmmmm... I really love the sweet fragrance of the 'wu-ti-ti' flowers :-) Come again??... Never heard the name before?? Well, to make long history short (narrated to me by the owner of the nursery where I bought the plant) the name 'wu-ti-ti' was given to the plant a long time ago because its flowers will have three colors through the flowers life span.

At initial stage, the color of the fresh bud is dark purple. The color will lasts for few days during its blossom. The mature stage could be easily identified when the color of purple becomes lighter. During the last stage, the purple shades will totally washed out, leaving the flower with clean, white color. These 3 stages of color changing lasts for about 5 days plus.

What's more, the 'wu-ti-ti' does not just mesmerized me with the colors transformation.. the flowers emit such sweet captivating scent; almost like lavender.. however not too dense and thick... just nice... its indeed an aromatherapy!!

I have the 'wu-ti-ti' planted in a pot outside my ironing room. Hence, when it blooms.. the 'ironing room' will be the place to be for relaxing by breathing in the wonderful natural perfume :-)

I'm sure there's lots of places grow the 'wu-ti-ti'; locations  which I have noticed is at Petronas Penapisan Terengganu (PPT) and another one close to home, is the Kelana Jaya Putra LRT station. And I can't help myself to just stop what ever I was doing and go near to the plant to breath in the flowers... Mmm... Indeed life feels so carefree and wonderful :-)

BBQ Lunch

I always love BBQ.. especially when the BBQ is prepared by own self. It has been several months since my family last had BBQ together. Our usual menu for BBQ will be steaks, chicken drumsticks and wings, frankfurters, shrimps, squids and fish. Great menu, huh... can tell you one thing...it was YuMMy!! :-)

There was plan for BBQ after the last one, however everybody was busy with work; my brother with his on-call, my sis-in-law in Kuantan while my parents with renovation of the new house. Alast, after several months of waiting, the plan finally came true!!

My sis-in-law got herself job transferred to Damansara, my parents has their house upon completion and Ramadhan is just around the corner.. there's indeed something worthwhile to celebrate!! This afternoon, we had BBQ at my parents new home :-)

The menu; mashed potato and chicken wings (prepared by yours truly !!), shrimps, squids and fish.. Well, though the menu was not as lengthy as usual.. however itwas still a great feast :-)

Hmm, can't wait to have a BBQ pot luck again.. ;-)

What's up Doc?

Its only norm birds perching on trees.... Small birds... 'common', Big birds.. 'sure'...

Now.. what about the scene of birds perching on lamp posts... ?? Sure, there's nothing extraordinary for small birds like crows or swallows... but storks!!

Hey, we're talking about 'ME' here... a person who's her life revolves in the busy town of PeeJay (Petaling Jaya) and KayYell

Three (3) storks up on lamp posts

(Kuala Lumpur).. seeing big birds once in a while is really wonderful... seeing big birds almost every early evening perching on lamp posts... well... I have to count my Blessings after this.... "I'm not talking about Big Bird of Sesame Street, kay...Infact.. that'll be a scary sight, I supposed... haha"

Interested to see these big birds? ..Try going to Putrajaya around afternoons or early evenings. If you're lucky, you might see one stork or more at the bridge heading to the Putrajaya Wetland.

Good luck :-)

My type of Billboard

Have your ever came about something, that's common.. yet it manages to give some sense of excitement? Well, I found it .. advertisement!! .. Surprise?? .. hehe. Well, its not just normal advertisement, its kinda unique. You can catch it at the Nilai-Shah Alam highway stretch right after the Dengkil toll.

Pic 1. "Ladder thief strikes again" - A man, wearing a cleaner's uniform
looking down from the platform wondering where has his ladder gone to??

First time I came across it, I was delighted however, feeling much regret altogether for I did not bring my camera with me..
'Darn... wasted moment' ... :-(  However, "Lucky' strikes again afterwards when my hubby and I had to head to the south to attend friends wedding. This means that I can snap the billboards all I want, Yey.. !

Pic 2. "Strong winds to continue" - A man/ a boy grabbing a pole tightly in desperate hope of survival.

..Well, maybe it sounds rather pathetic..nevertheless, I enjoy it. True as they say.. sometimes you can find happiness in common things.. :-) Well, I give big applause to those advertising agency who came up with outstanding ideas as this. They have not just made my day on the highway... but also makes me look forward with enthusiasm whenever I want to head out for long land journeys ;-)

Pic 3. "Escaped bear still on the loose" - A black bear gazing down from its
hiding.

To my friends out there, check it out when you're on the highway yea... you'll never know what interesting things that might come your way ;-)

"Life is like a box of chocolate presented by your loved ones.. you'll never know what delicious treat in store for you" ;-)
