Revival

Whoa.. its been months now since my last posting. Reason for the absence and deterrence from the action was and still because of the bad internet network reception in my area.

Back in Kelana Jaya, I was blessed with STREAMYX.. however now in Bangi.. since the TMNet had insufficient ports for its customer back then, I later switched my attention to a new provider; MAXIS. At first, through the Q&A sessions we (my hubby and I) had with the Sales Asst. (hey.. it has never been the customers fault for being skeptical.. Remember.. Customers always right!), we finally decided that we should give MAXIS a try. Furthermore, we have nothing to loose since there's no string attach (unlike TMNet which a customer has to be bonded for a few months or else... penalize!!).

Unfortunately, to my dismay..MAXIS turns out to be rather a disappointment. Loading of a website page which normally take few seconds become endless minutes while the gmail page is absolutely an adversity until requires me to reboot the computer !!.

Anyways, since there is no string attach, perhaps it is a high time for me to discontinue the service soon.

To those who are able to surf the net at home, do not forget to count your Blessings since the possibility for you to be like me is just at a tossed of a coin ;-)

Such a bright day..

Hi :-) I'm not sure whether to like it or despise it... hmm.. probably i'm utterly confused even.. Do you noticed that the heat this past two days are different? The sun is shining so brightly... Hmm, I believe its a blessing for some farmers and most fishermen.. however to me.. it is otherwise. This bad headache has been bothering me since those two days... Remember the sound from piling work at construction area..? Well, that's exactly the sound spinning in my head.. dancing wildly designing the headache :-(

Anyway, today..on my way back home, I tuned in to my favorite evening station; KLFM on their segment of Evergreen & Everlasting. There, they play a rather old song, sang by our late singer; Allahyarham Sudirman Hj Arshad. Listening to this song, it brings back sweet memories... :-)

Anyway, have to end this here..head is throbbing..... Ouucchhh........ :-(

Farewell Party for Azran

Ooh, I know I should post this one earlier... however, hands tight up with plenty of things running around. Anyhow, hey.. I managed alast.
A friend of ours,Azran.. used to be our technician and colleague back in 2002, left us in 2004 to pursue his study. He later came back to the institute sometimes ago for his practical training.
Hmm, I'm not sure whether it is fortunate or unfortunate of me to see him walk out of the institute again after completing his practical training last 3rd of July. The reason I say this because, he is such a hardworking guy and so kind and it really is a lost to just see him go.

Anyhow, he told me that the probability of him coming back is high...probably sometimes end of
this year for he has been given a project by one of the Dr here.. Horray !! :-) Okie... I managed to snap some
photos of the event for recollection, enjoy :-)

Intellectual Property

Last 24th till 26th of June, 3 straight days I had let myself to be indulged by a topic called 'Commercialization'. I can say, all this while it never really a concern to me.. this 'commercial' word... accept for the commercial on TV.. which I now surprisingly welcome in between movies to enable me wash the dishes or pick up dry clothes from the hangars. Hmm, back during school time, I used to hate these commercials.. annoying segment that interrupted my favourite shows.. Haha, what happened to that teenage girl now?? Interesting how age could change a person's behaviour... 'maturity'... Hmm, probably that's the word.

The whole course is somewhat a 'wake-up' call for me, I'm not too sure about other participants.. for most of them seems already well-versed to this topic. Dr Chris; the instructor revealed to us the need of putting the 'commercialization' idea in our mind right at the beginning on planning of our research. However, the commercialization could not stand alone without an act of 'patenting' which is designed to safeguard the inventor and the invention.

This morning, I was visited by UKM's Intellectual Property (IP) personnel, and we engrossed in communication regarding the 'disclosure' issue; how much should a scientist reveal data to public. Indeed, we do agree that prior for a product to be published in a journal, the concept, designed or whatever applies to the product should be registered and filed in the IP dept. This will safeguard the inventor for any plagiarism activity. Nonetheless, what concern me now would be whether anyone has considered about the safety and reliability of the conferences and seminars where scientists convene to share their preliminary ideas in forms of posters and proceedings? Human being human, is always blessed with implausible reaction.

Hence, it is a scary thought to even think about a property that belongs to one today, will unexpectedly officially belongs to another the next day due to canny plagiarism.

Well, Have you SECURE your INVENtiON yet??

A Week Into My New Job

Whoa...life really has been busy for me this week. Last Monday, to be precised 2nd June at 08:15 hr was my first day reporting duty at UKM. Difference between this morning and every other previous mornings when I was still working with PETRONAS are no more waiting for LRT at Kelana Jaya LRT station and standing in the middle coach for half an hour before reaching KLCC.. yey .. Hail the liberation!!

It was a pleasant surprise stepping into the Registrar Office that morning after so many years deserting it. The interior design as well as the arrangement has changed for the better.. it looks modern, bright and neat rather than sticking with the same old 70's design for so long.. Hey, I am all for the change :-)

The peak of finalizing the formalities arrived when I received my ID card.. with a one outstanding word 'PENSYARAH' @ 'LECTURER'... Yes..the ultimate card that will be my Passport to roam around freely in the campus as well as granting me the power of SUPREMACY !!! (Haha... Okay..I know it is too much of  me.. Well, still I do feel that way.. Opps... bad Mimi!.. hehe)

Later, close to the afternoon.. I met the Director of the Fuel Cell Institute for another round of formalities. I was advised to actively seek for Supervisor and University outside of Malaysia in order to proceed with PhD by next year. However, since I already became a member of the Institute.. my new boss gave me a new post... 'Patent Officer'... Hmm.. interesting.. a new experience indeed ... *YumMy*... :-)

Counting from 2nd to 6th June, 5 days has gone by wonderfully... a room for myself in the Institute + link back with old Fuel Cell buddies + tasty food with cheap and reasonable price (ate a plate of rice the other day with ikan keli + sambal goreng + paru goreng sambal with the price of RM3.. marvellous isn't it) .. and keeping in touch with PETRONAS friends viz YM ... life is good :-)... How could we live without the internet technology, huh! :)

The sun so shiny..

A new account to lay..
Which is not about money."
